Joshua's Journal: Week 8

Hello!  It's Friday!  Yay!  I saw my first bumblebee of 2015!  And Jeralyn saw it too--and she wasn't too thrilled about that.  Ha!

Here's week 8:

Joshua's Journal: Weeks 5-7

Hello!  So it may not be surprising that Joshua had very VERY few photos of him for these particular weeks.  I don't know why, but sometimes I just go through these phases of not taking a lot of photos.  The photos I am using for this project are from my iPhone, my camera, and Quent's camera.  But sometimes there's seriously just not a lot of picture-taking, which is just how life is at times for me.  And combine that with a lack of sleep (just read the journaling to see for yourself) and trying to find my rhythm with two children, and I'm lucky I even have photos and journaling.  My hat goes off to all of you mamas out there trying to scrapbook, snap photos with your camera, or just trying to get some sleep.  Ha!  Being a mom of young children is tough work.  And quite honestly, I look back at these photos and think, "It's a good thing Joshua was so cute!"  Ha!  It's funny because sometimes I will ask Jeralyn, "Why are you so cute?"  And she will always respond with, "Because I have ta be cute."  *chuckle*

Really though, I was SO glad when we were all sleeping well and I started to feel "normal" again.  And I'm so happy to be finding some pockets of time (as small as they are) to enjoy scrapbooking and other hobbies.

Joshua's Journal: Week 4

Hello!

Week 4 for Joshua's baby Journal:

There was a question on my last post about what templates I use.  I actually created my own templates, but the pictures frames are all from Designer Digitals.

You can find an assortment of these photo clusters here.

Project Life 2015: Week 7

Hello!  It's FRIDAY!  I finished up another week of Project Life!  It's almost unreal to be caught up with it.  Ha!  But it's nice; really nice!

And I'm loving including these little stories and things that Jeralyn says.

Week 7 is a single page.  So hopefully Week 8 will be a single page as well (so they can be put together side-by-side in the album).

Joshua's Journal: Week 2

Hello!

It's so fun looking back through these photos of Josh, especially with his birthday next month.  It brings back all of those memories of having a newborn (the loss of sleep and sweet baby snuggles (and everything in between)).

I have a feeling this is going to be a quick scrapping project!  I'm already cranking them out!  Yay for pre-made templates!

Joshua's Journal: Week 1

Hello!  Well, it felt really weird to be almost caught up with Project Life so I thought it was time to start Joshua's baby journal.  In a couple of days he will be 11 months; better late than never!  And I'm making it REALLY easy on myself.  I'm totally using the same pages from Jeralyn's pages.  I'm using the same templates for each week, but different elements when needed/necessary.

That's Jeralyn's page (above).

I loved this project SO much that I just knew I had to do it again (plus it's only fair, right?).  My mom gave my brother and I our baby books a few years ago and I was so impressed that she kept up with it like she did (even with my brother's who is 3 years younger).  Seriously, that's impressive when there are so many moms who have great intentions, but it never actually happens, especially when more children come along.  Go Mom!

So I'm determined to keep up as much as possible.  It's not as easy the second time around.  My time is crunched more.  I remember when I used to do blanket time with Jeralyn at my side while I scrapped...I haven't even attempted that with Joshua.  Ha!

The first few weeks of journaling with Josh were pretty impressive...but I have to admit that the journaling became less and less as time went on.  Oops!  I'm lucky if I remembered much.  Ha! So at this point I'm just happy to have anything!  Maybe the Project Life pages will fill in the blanks.

Anyway, I'm happy to FINALLY be working on this!  Yay!

Project Life 2015: Weeks 1-3

Hello!  Well, I FINALLY figured out what I will be doing for Project Life 2015.  I was mad at it (still) earlier today.  I just wasn't satisfied with what I was coming up with...but then I realized that I was bored with my digital supplies.  I also wanted a new set of page templates to work with, but I wasn't really excited about what I was coming up with on my own.  So today I was looking at Sweet Shoppe Designs and found some templates I liked, along with some other goodies.

Week 1:

The page (above) is what I started out with, or should I say, it was like my 3rd draft.  I knew that I wanted to use the "Week 1" card with the date, but that was like all I was confident about.  I almost just settled for this.  It looks ok, but I just wanted something different.

Yay!  A big change I made for this year's project is to eliminate the boring, redundant, day-to-day journaling.  Instead, I've been trying really hard to write down the funny things Jeralyn has been saying because, honestly, those are the things I want to remember.

Week 2:

I also wanted templates that were Instagram photo-friendly.  Instagram photos are square and I was getting tired of hacking off so much of a photo in a 3x4 inch rectangle.  So it will be nice to have that change.  Although, there will still be lots of cropping going on.

Week 3:

So far, I don't have photos with labeling on them, but that may come in the future.  But I would like to stick with what I've done so far with the little letter blocks/alpha to spell out different things.  It would be fun to have that theme throughout.

So I'm changing things up a bit.  You will also notice that I don't have 2-page spreads here.  I will do 2-page spreads when needed, but I would like to have the photos be the main focus, not paper or elements, but also have the fun of using the paper/elements (if that even makes sense).

Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life 2014: Week 51

Hello!  Where did I go?  I don't know!  Ha!  But I'm back with Week 51 and maybe (just maybe) I will post the last week of 2014 tomorrow.  Keep your fingers crossed!
