Hybrid

Oh no! I'm going hybrid. What is hybrid? Combining traditional & digital scrapbooking. I don't know that much about it...yet. I want to learn more.

The khaki-colored cardstock is what I printed on. It's brushes and journaling were creating in Photoshop. Then I printed out a picture, and cut out a circle. Embellishments were added...thus a finished product! Something funny about this page is that the picture has nothing to do with the journaling, but it was taken on Easter. Ha!

The white piece of paper with the green, turquoise, and brown flowers is what I created in Photoshop. There are other digital elements added to the page, too, along with a quote. After printing I added the picture, flowers, rhinestones, ribbon, and letters.

3 Pages

I found some more inspirational ideas and had some fun!

Idea came from: http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1321036. I used the sewing machine for the border and played around with different stitches. (I still have used the sewing machine more for scrapbooking than anything else *blush*) The blue diamond paper was inked on the edges in brown and then distressed a bit by folding over and wrinkling it a bit.

Idea came from: http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1199973. I had this idea bookmarked a long time ago. I will add journaling in the bottom left corner later on.

Idea came from: http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1315073. The red paper is from the Basic Grey Boxer set, along with the chipboard. The quote really has nothing to do with this page. Haha!

Wednesday page

I decided it was time to stop resting and start playing. Ha! So here's what I did late this afternoon. I found an idea that sparked interest, printed pictures, and had fun! The inspiration came from: http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/pg.asp?set=recent&gallery=1&cmd=display&layout_id=1320707.

What are you scrapbooking?

There are so many things in life we can scrapbook, but what we end up scrapbooking is what is happening right before our eyes. It's what has happened or is happening. If you have children, you are capturing them on camera, adhering pictures of them to paper, and journaling about what was caught on camera. It's those precious things in life. It's a cat, a house, a vacation, a dream come true, a trial, a birthday, etc., etc., etc.

So what are you scrapbooking?

Your scrapbooks tell a lot about who you are. They express who you are. They show where you've been, where you are, and even where you want to go. I have once heard that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", and your pages show beauty defined. And it's not just scrapbooking pages, but cards, knitting projects, quilts, etc. It's what your hands have made...and it's all beautiful!

Life is truly a blessing! Let's go out and scrapbook it!

Blessed

I wish I could change the wording on the "Lucky" card to "Blessed"...but oh well. Ha! It's a card one-sided "card" that I got with my March Express Kit, which was in the theme of "luck" for St. Patrick's Day.

I'm not too thrilled with this page. I'm not in my *very* creative mood right now. Haha!

I used some brushes in Photoshop on the picture before printing.

A Good Snapshot Stops...

After I cleaned, I finished a page I started yesterday.

This is new paper by Cosmo Cricket. The quote is also from them. The die-cut flowers are from Fancy Pants. I have a few rub-ons on the page too. Let's see if you can spot them. They are also from Fancy Pants. And I couldn't help but add some rhinestones. Ha! I also used Photoshop to do some journaling on one of the photos.

Stuff

I went through my paper holder full of scrap paper. This is the stack I came up with at the end just of the card-size paper. I didn't realize I had so many of these stuffed into that holder.

This is a pile of scraps of patterned paper that I don't really know what to do with righ tnow. I am going to go through it again and keep only what I know I will use.

These are my handy-dandy paper holders that I purchased through Stampin' Up! I really like them! I want to purchase a couple more for my scraps. I like keeping my paper in these because I can see my options better.

P.S. The left side of the picture is where the stairs to the loft are, you can see the railing going down.

There are a lot of organizational type things that I'm looking into getting. One is for those letters I have punched out already. I have heard about some scrapbookers having a folder or something with all "A's" together and so forth for the rest of the alphabet.

I finally cleaned my table with Goo Gone!! Yippee! I get a lot of adhesive markings on it.

Messy vs. Clean

This morning I decided it was time to clean up my mess in the loft. I thought it would be fun to take before and after shots to show the difference.

{before}
The pile toward the bottom of the picture is of storage stuff I didn't know what to do with, so it sat there for, oh, a long time. In the middle of the picture on the right side there is a messy pile of patterned paper. When I get new paper, I don't like putting it away with the older paper that I have. This pile is a mixture of old and new. Uh, the rest is just a plain ole mess.

This is my work table. Ha!

{after} Whew!

MUCH better!

I couldn't help myself, I just had to change it. In the post previous to this one, I showed the first draft of this page. This is what it looks like after I changed it. I feel better now! Ha!

I used the same paper, but cut off the top and bottom to create 3 strips and I adhered it to white paper. Then I put a vanilla layer behind each picture, instead of just one picture. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep the "memories with you", but I did find a place for it on this page. I have used most of the same embellishments and added some additions. Whew!

Pages with NEW stuff

Coming up with titles for posts is challenging sometimes. Ha!

These are some pages I made a couple of days ago. I was so excited to use my new stuff, but I realized that I need to pace myself more. I think what happens is that I'm scared to use any of it because I really like it and I don't want to use it for just anything, and so then I corner myself. Plus I haven't been feeling very creative lately. That happens sometimes, doesn't it? We go through times where we are super creative and then times where we are not.

This was the first page I worked on. The Fancy Pants "About a Boy" paper is probably my most favorite!! I will do some journaling in the top right corner to complete this page.

Warning: Stampin' Up! Craft ink does NOT dry on transparencies! I figured that out after it had been drying for, oh, 3 days! Ha! A clean tissue fixed that problem before I put it in a page protector. *smile*

I really don't know what to say about this page. I think I have fretted about this page...ok, so maybe I AM a perfectionist when it comes to scrapbooking. Haha! My eyes tell me this page is way too busy, but I'm lost right now in how to fix it. So I'm going to leave it alone. Even as I'm sitting here I'm still feeling bothered. Ok, maybe I won't be able to leave it alone. *sniff*

Now I should go clean up the mess I made. The loft is pretty messy today!

NEW paper

I don't have a huge paper collection. I pretty much use what I have. So I'm always looking for new patterned paper. Lately I have been wanting to use orange, green, brown, turquoise, pink and red paper.

Fancy Pants chipboard flourishes. I've been wanting chipboard flourishes for some time.

Fancy Pants See Through Letters and another one called Tabbed Book and More. These transparencies look like so much fun!!! I want to get some paint and do some crazy stuff!

Going North

I'm trying to put more than one or two pictures on a page for our vacation scrapbook since there are a LOT of pictures. I'm also realizing how blue, turquoise, brown, red, and orange paper is really coming in handy for this project.

The background paper is a textured paper by Stampin' Up! and the color is called River Rock. It's a really unique color and it looks different depending on what color(s) it's next to. I thought the paper was too plain by itself, so I stamped a few circles on two corners. I thought it completed the page.

The clear buttons are from the March Memory Works Express Kit (which I failed to take a picture of this month--sorry!)

I made the black arrow using a "v" and then using an "l" from some white chipboard I had, in which I covered with black glitter to match the already glittered "v". I really like using arrows right now and I think it's perfect for this project.

There are two new embellishments on this page that I used for the first time. They are called gel stickers and they are by a brand called Love Elsie. Her embellishments are super fun!

The journal circle was something I cut out, wrote on, and then I added green rhinestones around it. I like being creative with journaling.

Oh, and I was thrilled to hear Quent say that this was a "simple" page. I cracked up!
