Pages with NEW stuff

Coming up with titles for posts is challenging sometimes. Ha!

These are some pages I made a couple of days ago. I was so excited to use my new stuff, but I realized that I need to pace myself more. I think what happens is that I'm scared to use any of it because I really like it and I don't want to use it for just anything, and so then I corner myself. Plus I haven't been feeling very creative lately. That happens sometimes, doesn't it? We go through times where we are super creative and then times where we are not.


This was the first page I worked on. The Fancy Pants "About a Boy" paper is probably my most favorite!! I will do some journaling in the top right corner to complete this page.

Warning: Stampin' Up! Craft ink does NOT dry on transparencies! I figured that out after it had been drying for, oh, 3 days! Ha! A clean tissue fixed that problem before I put it in a page protector. *smile*

I really don't know what to say about this page. I think I have fretted about this page...ok, so maybe I AM a perfectionist when it comes to scrapbooking. Haha! My eyes tell me this page is way too busy, but I'm lost right now in how to fix it. So I'm going to leave it alone. Even as I'm sitting here I'm still feeling bothered. Ok, maybe I won't be able to leave it alone. *sniff*

Now I should go clean up the mess I made. The loft is pretty messy today!

NEW paper

I don't have a huge paper collection. I pretty much use what I have. So I'm always looking for new patterned paper. Lately I have been wanting to use orange, green, brown, turquoise, pink and red paper.

Here are a few new things I ordered through Memory Works. I "patiently" waited for these products. Haha! These are all new products that have just arrived.


Ribbon by Cosmo Cricket

Paper, which will be cut later for journaling blocks and other things, and Fancy Pants Rub-ons.

Fancy Pants chipboard flourishes. I've been wanting chipboard flourishes for some time.

Fancy Pants See Through Letters and another one called Tabbed Book and More. These transparencies look like so much fun!!! I want to get some paint and do some crazy stuff!

Going North

I'm trying to put more than one or two pictures on a page for our vacation scrapbook since there are a LOT of pictures. I'm also realizing how blue, turquoise, brown, red, and orange paper is really coming in handy for this project.

The background paper is a textured paper by Stampin' Up! and the color is called River Rock. It's a really unique color and it looks different depending on what color(s) it's next to. I thought the paper was too plain by itself, so I stamped a few circles on two corners. I thought it completed the page.

The clear buttons are from the March Memory Works Express Kit (which I failed to take a picture of this month--sorry!)

I made the black arrow using a "v" and then using an "l" from some white chipboard I had, in which I covered with black glitter to match the already glittered "v". I really like using arrows right now and I think it's perfect for this project.

There are two new embellishments on this page that I used for the first time. They are called gel stickers and they are by a brand called Love Elsie. Her embellishments are super fun!

The journal circle was something I cut out, wrote on, and then I added green rhinestones around it. I like being creative with journaling.

Oh, and I was thrilled to hear Quent say that this was a "simple" page. I cracked up!

Grand Pages

I LOVE this background paper! I think I'm going to have to order more. There's a backside to it that looks like the front, but it's lighter. The "1" and "2" are self-adhesive chipboard letters by Basic Grey, which I put patterned paper over. What I did was adhered the number to the back of the patterned paper, cut around it, folded it around the chipboard, and then peeled the sticker off the back and stuck it on my page. I had never done that before with chipboard. I really like the looks of it. I would like to add something in the middle of the green rhinestone circle I made in the center of the page...but I will wait until later after I get some more goodies. This page was a LOT of fun!

I'm not always very good at scrapbooking scenery, which has been a challenge for me with our Grand Canyon pictures. I had put these 3 patterned papers together and then knew exactly what picture I was going to put with it...the rainbow picture I had printed the day before. I may add more to this page later, too. The hearts at the bottom is the heart from Stampin' Up!'s Priceless set. You will even see a flourish.

The first idea I had for this page was how I wanted the pictures put on the page...and then I had to find the background paper. Then I cut circles and it went from there. I like it! I photoshopped (is that a word?) the journaling right onto the picture.

This was a page sparked from the inspiration of a card I made yesterday. I may add to this one later too...don't you love all of these pages that are finished, but not really? Haha!

NEW

Uh...I'm not really sure about this new contraption. It's a nifty organizer, but it's HUGE!! I didn't expect it to be so big. Unfortunately, I think I will be returning it.

Here's a page I did today. It's not totally finished. I'll eventually journal on it (bottom right) and I want to print out a word on transparent paper to put in the top left corner.

Weekend Cards

This card was using the Close to Cocoa designer paper from Stampin' Up! Dry embossing was used on this card.

SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!

I just cannot keep this to myself. The other day I was trying to search online to find out what these new scrapbooking products are going to be that I believe are coming out this April (spring---sometime!). These are products that were show-cased at the Winter 2008 CHA. This is like a gigantic craft show!! Haha! Today, I accidently happened to "fall" upon some of these new products, and GASP, I'm just so excited!! These are some of my most favorite products. Not totally sure about this page...


I was SUPER excited about this idea for the flower. Here's what I did:
1. I "stamped" the flower brush in black in Photoshop.
2. I colored in layers behind the flower.
3. Embossed the black flower.
I really like how it turned out! Go ahead...try it!

I'll probably have to adjust this page a little bit before I have it printed so the green dots on the side don't get cut off.

Anthologie

This is the scrapbook album I am using for our 2007 Grand Canyon vacation.


This is the top of it. It's black leather.

Planning ahead: I have scrapbooked a page where the green sticky note is, but it's digital, so I have to have it printed. I have notes to myself of where the pages go since I want to keep this one in chronological order.

There are many ways to put pictures and pages into this album. Here is an example of a scrapbook page next to 6-4x6 pictures. It's like a regular photo album where you slide the pictures in.

The page protectors are all sorts of different sizes. This one holds 2-6x6 and 3-4x6 photos.

Someday this scrapbook will be totally full. Ha!

Craft Keeper

This is what I keep my eyelets, brads, rhinestones, and other small embellishments in. It's by Craft Maker.

Random Pages

The paper had enough "pretties" on it so I didn't have to add much to this page.

The white marks on the page are supposed to look like paint. I rubbed Craft Stampin' Up! ink on the paper. Oh, and yes, I do like rhinestones a lot! Haha!

Spring

This was the page we did for the scrapbook class today. Nettie is so much fun! She had us all laughing a lot today! She encouraged us to use our own handwriting to make the letters for the word "Spring". We could use any words we wanted.

Below is the page with my additions. "Spring" was filled with green glitter (thank you Doodlebug!), the flowers were updated with rhinestone brads, stamped flourishes were added, along with pictures and some stamped words in white on the big photo.
